Rep. Donalds’ Statement Recognizing National Small Business Week

WASHINGTON - Today, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) issued the following statement recognizing September 13, 2021, to September 17, 2021, as “National Small Business Week.”

“In recognition of National Small Business Week, I am proud to join my colleagues in celebrating the tremendous contributions of America’s small business community that represent the backbone of our economy. Today, more than 30 million small businesses are in our country, supporting nearly 60 million jobs, including more than 180,000 in Florida’s 19th Congressional District. The courageous entrepreneurial spirit of America’s small business owners has faced tremendous challenges throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to overreaching mandates that kept many of our businesses shuttered, threatening the foundation of our economy.

“As a member of the House Small Business Committee, I will strive to ensure that our small business community can thrive without the heavy hand of government through burdensome regulations and taxes that stifle innovation and growth. This week and every day, I am grateful for the grit, determination, and tireless work of America’s small businesses; your commitment to Main Street USA keeps our nation going and is appreciated beyond words.”
