ICYMI: Donalds Joins The Julie Mason Show

WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined The Julie Mason Show on SiriusXM POTUS to discuss the need to pass the Save America Act in the Senate and President Trump's upcoming State of the Union Address.

Watch the full interview here.

"Make the Democrats have to go to the floor and actually explain to the American people why they're opposed to voter ID":

"The votes, I think, are there to pass it. Even if it was a 50-50 tie, obviously Vice President Vance would come in and break that tie. But it's really about Senate procedure now. Are they going to do a talking filibuster on this issue that 80% of the American people support? And this really looks directly at Senate Democrats. It doesn't have to be that way. They can simply vote to end for cloture, to end debate, and go to the floor for an up or down vote. Those are the Senate rules. I think most people need to understand like to pass something off the Senate floor is a simple majority, but you have to break the filibuster, which ends debate, and that's what takes 60 votes right now. They can undo that. They can just go to a talking filibuster. That's in the hands of John Thune, the Senate Leader. So I would recommend to Leader Thune [to] go to a talking filibuster. Make the Democrats have to go to the floor and actually explain to the American people why they're opposed to voter ID."

"The President of the United States has a major success story to tell the American people, and I think that's what you're going to hear next Tuesday night":

"Something tells me it's going to be a tour de force from President Trump. And look, let's be clear, the President has a lot of successes under his belt. I mean, we could talk about foreign policy, many successes there. But let's talk about what's happening here at home. The economy is going stronger. Wages adjusted for inflation are up. Gas prices are down. Inflation is down and under control. Prices have stabilized. You have the jobs report that came out the other week. A powerful jobs report [that] doubled the estimates that the street was expecting. I mean, we have a very strong economy that's getting better for a lot of people who really fell behind during the Biden years. And Donald Trump, once again, has demonstrated that his economic policies are actually in the best interests of the American people. You couple that with a secure Southern Border, something that all Americans wanted for years. The border is completely secured. We're deporting criminal illegal aliens. The President of the United States has a major success story to tell the American people, and I think that's what you're going to hear next Tuesday night."
