WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined Daybreak on 92.5 FM WFSX Fox News Radio–Estero to discuss the rampant Somali fraud in Minnesota, and Senate Democrats threatening a shutdown over DHS.
"Governor Walz does not have legal authority to oppose ICE and federal law enforcement from executing federal law":
"What I said was is that Governor Walz does not have legal authority to oppose ICE and federal law enforcement from executing federal law. And no governor does... It needs to be very clear and understood by everybody in America. Governors can run their mouths all they want, but when it comes to naturalization and deportations, under the Constitution, the federal government has full authority. They have plenary power. And that's because naturalization and immigration is an enumerated power by the federal government. When the Constitution was ratified, the states gave those powers to the federal government. So, any governor in our country, doesn't matter if you're a Republican or a Democrat, liberal, conservative, you don't have the authority to tell federal law enforcement, when it comes to immigration, what they are and are not going to do in your state."
"When Barack Obama was president, he was doing the exact same thing":
"When Barack Obama was president, he was doing the exact same thing. He was doing the same thing. By the way, under Barack Obama, there were 57 deaths. 57 deaths of illegal aliens in ICE custody. Where were the protests then? Where was MSNBC and all the liberal media then? Where were these same Democrats talking about shutting down the Department of Homeland Security?"
