WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined Katie Pavlich Tonight on NewsNation to discuss the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee's continued investigation into the rampant fraud in Minnesota and the need to end funding for sanctuary cities.
"It makes no sense that you have any jurisdiction in the United States that violates federal immigration law, and yet they still get taxpayer money":
"Well, we should have done that long ago. It makes no sense that you have any jurisdiction in the United States that violates federal immigration law, and yet they still get taxpayer money. That's just simply unconscionable. We could pass it in the House tomorrow. The problem is going to be the United States Senate, and in particular, the Senate filibuster. That's the problem because you have Democrat senators who, if they truly believe that sanctuary cities should be funded, then they should go to the floor of the United States Senate, and they should actually argue and debate for that, but they don't. They stay in their offices, [and] they refuse to move a package forward so it can't get an up or down vote for passage or failure. So this is where the Senate filibuster is actually failing the American people, not helping the American people. One example of many."
"It's pretty clear to me that Governor Walz, his team, Keith Ellison, and his team were stopping people from investigating this fraud and bringing it to an end":
"Well, we still have an active investigation in the Oversight Committee. I know the Department of Justice is actually going through the process of people who were directly involved with this fraud. A lot of them have already pled guilty. There are other arrests that are still being made in that regard. The Oversight Committee's investigation really focuses on the complicity of Governor Walz, the Attorney General Keith Ellison, and their administrations to stop state employees in the state of Minnesota and whistleblowers from coming forward [and] exposing this fraud to the people of Minnesota. And so that's what we're focused on, but we're not going to stop looking into this because it's pretty clear to me that Governor Walz, his team, Keith Ellison, and his team were stopping people from investigating this fraud and bringing it to an end. In my view, they're complicit."
