WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined American Agenda on Newsmax to discuss the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee's vote to hold the Clintons in contempt of Congress.
"What's going to happen next is the contempt resolutions, criminal contempt resolutions for both Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton are going to go to the floor of the entire House"
"Well, what's going to happen next is the contempt resolutions, criminal contempt resolutions for both Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton are going to go to the floor of the entire House. Like Chairman Comer said in the clip you just played, we would anticipate that there will be bipartisan support for both of those measures when they reach the floor of the House. I mean, look, let's just be very clear. They were subpoenaed to attend, to come here for [a] closed-door deposition with committee attorneys both on the Republican side and the Democrat side. And instead, what they chose to do was send some letter trying to make it seem as if our subpoena was illegal. That is the furthest thing from the truth. It was a legal subpoena. By the way, this is not the first time Hillary has snubbed her nose at a congressional subpoena from the Oversight Committee. And so the committee did the right thing to take action, and we anticipate that the whole House will follow up on our action and do the same thing."
"I think the Clintons have already proven to America that their word cannot be trusted":
"Look, I think the Clintons have already proven to America that their word cannot be trusted. One quick response: 33,000 emails. They were subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee long time ago, and Hillary decided she was going to take a drill and BleachBit, and delete all those emails when they were subpoenaed by this committee. With them trying to now come with this sham of a letter saying that it's an illegal subpoena, [and] they don't have to testify, is utterly ridiculous. They were subpoenaed. And by the way, that vote to bring them in was not partisan. That was a bipartisan vote of the Oversight Committee to bring them in to come and testify. And so, under oath, mind you, in a closed-door deposition. That was what we asked for. And so, at this point, we're going to take this to the floor of the House, and then it will be in the hands of the Department of Justice to move forward from there."
