WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined The Big Weekend Show on Fox News Channel to discuss the arrest of Nicolás Maduro and the backlash from Democrats.
"If you told Congress, Congress would have leaked it. It's unfortunate to say it, but it's true"
"As Secretary Rubio said, there was an active indictment against Nicolás Maduro and his wife, and that indictment was handled when they were arrested. And so for them (Democrats) to try to talk about how President Trump didn't come to Congress, I actually agree with the President's administration. If you told Congress, Congress would have leaked it. It's unfortunate to say it, but it's true. You get leaks out of Congressional meetings all the time over the stupidest subjects, and I think you would have had it here as well."
"Nicolás Maduro decided he was going to mess around, and he found out the hard way":
"I think this is, once again, President Trump being very clear with people about what his intentions are. He really doesn't hide the ball. He'll give you an option. That's all true. And so, Nicolás Maduro decided he was going to mess around, and he found out the hard way. And it's unfortunate, but hey, that's tough for him. I think for the people of Venezuela and also the people of Venezuela in the United States, especially in Miami and throughout the state of Florida, this is vindication for them. These Venezuelans had to flee their country because of the socialist narco-terrorist regime of Nicolás Maduro and his predecessor Hugo Chávez... One of the most corrupt regimes on the planet. The people were starving. The people had no ability to build wealth in the streets. So many Venezuelans had to flee that country. And so now for Maduro to be in New York being arrested and going to face the charges of narco-terrorism, I think not only is that justice for our hemisphere, but it's justice for the people of Venezuela, those in the United States and those in Venezuela tonight."
