"Look, the Democrats have nothing to run on. Can we just cut to the chase? They're just mad that they're not in power":
"You're absolutely correct about the data, Carl. I'll tell you that. Look, the Democrats have nothing to run on. Can we just cut to the chase? They're just mad that they're not in power. But if you look at every single item that truly matters to the American people, economy, security, safety, and potential for the future, Donald Trump has a plan and strategies that are working. They're working as we speak. Wages adjusted for inflation. One of the key markers in our economy are up, and they're going to continue to go up as the president's agenda continues to be implemented. Gas prices, now nationwide, below $3 a gallon for the first time since he was president the last time. Again, these are things that matter in the lives of the American people. What about border security? There are no illegal entrants into the United States of America. A very different world from when Joe Biden and the Democrats ran Washington, D.C. Promises made, promises kept. So when you actually look at the facts, at the data and not the concerns that, listen, there are affordability concerns that are real [and] that do exist, but it takes time to stabilize prices and get them to decrease. For Democrats to come out here and argue today that they have a recipe for success is a bold-faced lie because they still haven't produced any policy except stop Donald Trump, and that's not going to matter in the lives of the American people."
"If we just went and did that, and then adjusted for inflation from that time, we would actually be cutting our deficits in this town by almost three-quarters of a trillion dollars":
"Listen, I will tell you right now [that] we have Republicans on Capitol Hill who don't want to do what's necessary and cut this fat out of this government. What we've been advocating for from House Freedom Caucus is a return to pre-COVID spending levels. If we just went and did that, and then adjusted for inflation from that time, we would actually be cutting our deficits in this town by almost three-quarters of a trillion dollars. Just going back to pre-COVID spending levels. These are the things that need to occur, but you need to have the votes, and unfortunately, I do have colleagues, Republicans, who do not want to take those serious votes, but that's what's going to matter. So you can't put that on Donald Trump. That falls on Congress. So that's why actually curtailing federal spending is critical. The reforms that are necessary, we did some things in the president's agenda. We could have done a lot more. And the things that are necessary to get the fiscal house in order, here in Washington, are going to require courage from a lot of my Republican colleagues. I will tell you, Carl, this is one of the reasons I support the president's plan to remove the filibuster. Because if you're going to get 60 votes in the United States Senate just to clear debate to do some of the real budgetary restructuring, I'm telling you right now, the Democrats want no part of it, and we have some Republicans who want no part of it. You've got to get serious about the fiscal future of America. It's not going to be found in the United States Senate, which basically hides behind the filibuster as opposed to doing what is necessary for the next 250 years of America."
