WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined The Charlie Kirk Show on Real America's Voice to discuss his recent speaking engagement with the Turning Point Chapter at Truman State University.
Watch the full interview here. "I think it's really important what Charlie started and his legacy is reaching young people for commonsense conservative policy and values in Western civilization": "So, here's what happened. It was maybe two, three weeks after Charlie was assassinated and my son texts us and he was just like, 'How do we start a Turning Point chapter?' And so, you know, my wife was sending him links, you can go here, you can go here. And what happened was, I think there were several students on campus who were all thinking the same thing. They all got together, started this chapter so we were actually planning to just go out and visit him and see him.... And so, we were just planning to go visit him and he asked would I speak to the Turning Point club and I said, 'Of course, I'll do it.' Then it turned from just talking to the club members to they had to move the venue to the biggest auditorium on campus. So, it was a great event, great evening. [I] got a chance to talk to a lot of young people [and] hear directly from them, and they do have concerns. And I think it's really important what Charlie started and his legacy is reaching young people for commonsense conservative policy and values in Western civilization. As long as we can continue that effort and that focus of making sure young people understand the policies and the value sets that make America the greatest country in the world, there will be no stopping us." |
