ICYMI: Donalds Joins Daybreak On 92.5 FM WFSX

WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined Daybreak on 92.5 FM WFSX Fox News Radio–Estero to discuss Chuck Schumer's government shutdown, termination of the Senate filibuster, new revelations surrounding "Arctic Frost" government overreach, and New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani.

Watch the full interview here.

"But this is all because Chuck Schumer doesn't want to simply reopen the government":

"This thing is political, this is not really about policy. It's about Democrat politics and them trying to demonstrate that they're tough. And the election results on Tuesday, all that did was put wind in their sails. So, you know, Chuck Schumer is looking at it, saying well why do I even need to negotiate. It's really crazy to hear that kind of a statement. Air traffic control, we're expecting delays starting next week, and they're going to get worse. That's going to have a direct impact on the economy. But this is all because Chuck Schumer doesn't want to simply reopen the government. And so, we'll see where this goes."

"President Trump is calling for it. I fully support it, I think it's time that we get real and get to the business of the American people":

"As far as I'm concerned, everything needs to be on the table. I agree with the president on this. I think the filibuster it's time for it to go. I think people think that the filibuster's been in use as long as the Constitution has been ratified, that's not true. The current 60 vote cloture rule came in the 70s. 1970s is when they put that in. There are some modifications I think the Senate could make. I've talked to a couple senators about that. Very technical interpretations of Senate rules to open things up over there. But, in short, the Republican Senate they've got to like get with reality. And the reality is, is that people want to see real policy changes in the United States. Healthcare prices are going up because of Obamacare, and because of the strict regulatory burden it places on the type of insurance policies people buy. It's not because of subsidies, it's because of regulations. It needs to change. You want to talk about, obviously, people are talking about immigration. Visa reform, whether it's H-1Bs, which is a scam that needs to end, or any of these visa programs. You cannot get any of those reforms because Senate Democrats will not allow it because of the 60 vote filibuster rule... So, I think it's time, Senate Republicans need to step up and get the job done on behalf of the American people. President Trump is calling for it. I fully support it, I think it's time that we get real and get to the business of the American people."
