ICYMI: Donalds Joins Varney & Co.

WASHINGTON – This morning, Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined Varney & Co. on Fox Business Network to discuss Chuck Schumer's government shutdown, his bill  H.R. 5177 "The WEIGH Act" and the Trump administration's historic commitment to the deportation of illegal aliens.

Watch the full interview here.

"What we're not going to do is let this temper tantrum of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries dictate federal policy":

"The Democrats, their entire gamut has been that Republicans alway get blamed in shutdowns. Well, not this one, and that's simply because it's Democrats who keep voting to keep the government closed. President Trump, Leader Thune, Speaker Johnson have been very clear. Reopen the government and we'll talk about whatever you want to talk about. But what we're not going to do is let this temper tantrum of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries dictate federal policy. And even in that clip you just played of Hakeem Jeffries, he just looked utterly ridiculous. Like, we're not going to pick and choose which federal workers get paid. Well, Hakeem, that's your party that's led us to this point. All you got to do is vote the same way you've voted the last time 13 times we were facing a government shutdown. Keep the government open, let's work together on Capitol Hill to not only spend the people's money wisely, but make sure that we are continuing to uphold our duties and actually running our government efficiently and effectively for the American people."

"It's about safety on the public highways. Democrats should support it. This should get to the president's desk very quickly so he can sign it into law":

"We definitely should. I think Democrats need to support this measure as well. Unfortunately, it's not clear what they're going to do because, Stu, you got to understand, it's their states that are issuing these CDL licenses to people who can't speak English and who are not Americans. I mean look at what happened in New York. They're giving out a commercial driver's license. You're talking about a big rig, 80,000 pounds, and they're giving it to people with no name given. It's insane, it's ridiculous. So, this should be easily not even a bipartisan effort, really a nonpartisan effort. It's about safety on the public highways. Democrats should support it. This should get to the president's desk very quickly so he can sign it into law."
