ICYMI: Donalds Joins The Julie Mason Show

WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined The Julie Mason Show on SiriusXM POTUS to discuss Chuck Schumer's government shutdown and President Trump's historic peace deal in the Middle East.

Watch the full interview here.

"Chuck Schumer has decided that what matters more is his personal leadership post in the Senate than what is in the best interest of the American people":

"Essentially Chuck Schumer has decided that what matters more is his personal leadership post in the Senate than what is in the best interest of the American people. The thing that's been most interesting on this, Julie, that the press really isn't reporting is that what's holding up the government from reopening is the radical left. You have Democrat senators, John Fetterman, Angus King, who's an Independent who caucuses with Democrats. You have Cortez Masto in Nevada. They have voted with Senate Republicans. In the House, we had one member of the Democratic House out of Maine who voted with House Republicans. So, our position is the bipartisan position, but Chuck Schumer is trying to demonstrate he's tough all of a sudden. He wants to show that he could stand up to Donald Trump. And so what's happened is the government shut down. But Donald Trump's not going to give into him. House Republicans are not going to give into him. We are focused on one thing, reopening the government and then continuing to make America great again."

"The Democrats have chosen health care for illegal aliens over women and young kids and infants who are on WIC benefits in the country":

"What's going to start happening is you know, for the first 15 days or so, there's still a lot of money in the system that pays for a lot of programs, but the Democrats have chosen health care for illegal aliens over women and young kids and infants who are on WIC benefits in the country. They've chosen illegals over that. They've chosen illegals over paying our troops. Now, President Trump is moving money around to pay our troops today, but what happens on the 30th? The Democrats don't care about our military forces. They would rather them go hungry so they can have some political win. And that's what wrong in this whole situation. There's nothing of substance they're advocating for as to why they're shutting the government down except they want their radical spending put back into the federal budget and we're not going back to that."

"It was amazing and that's really thanks to the diligence and the leadership of Donald Trump":

"I think so. I think obviously you'll have some, some skirmishes here or there, but at the end of the day, the regime of Hamas, they have no support like they used to have. Hezbollah is gone. The Iranians obviously have been cut down to size. Their nuclear program is gone. So they don't really have the support they used to have two years ago or even a year ago. That's now been decimated.  So they're in a bad spot if you know just looking at it objectively. So I think the ceasefire will hold. The biggest thing overall, the hostages have come home. I was watching the news like so many people and to just see families being reunited with their loved ones after two years of captivity. It was amazing and that's really thanks to the diligence and the leadership of Donald Trump."
