ICYMI: Donalds Joins Varney & Co.

WASHINGTON – This morning, Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined Varney & Co. on Fox Business Network to discuss Chuck Schumer's government shutdown, the Trump administration's commitment to ensuring the military is paid during the shutdown, and the refusal of Democrats to acknowledge President Trump's historic peace deal in the Middle East.

Watch the full interview here.

"Senate Democrats have a responsibility now to reopen the government":

"Probably. I mean, they might be doing that, Stu. But the honest answer is, Senate Democrats really have nowhere to go. They’re holding everybody hostage because they want more subsidies on top of the things that they already subsidize. Plus they want to spend a trillion and a half dollars more, they want health care for illegal aliens. I don’t care what they’re saying, they use, actually, federal spending through the back door in some state programs to fund health care for illegals. We turned that off in President Trump’s agenda bill, and they want to turn that back on. That’s what’s happening. So they can wait for this protest around the country or not, it’s not going to change the dynamics. Senate Democrats have a responsibility now to reopen the government. Once that happens, then we can discuss whatever they would like."

"Just be honest and tip your cap and give President Trump the kudos that he deserves. He was able to deliver peace in the Middle East, he was able to bring all the hostages home":

"To be honest, it’s so ridiculous. Just be honest and tip your cap and give President Trump the kudos that he deserves. He was able to deliver peace in the Middle East, he was able to bring all the hostages home. But because they simply cannot get over the fact that he’s better at foreign policy than they are, then they do these veiled appreciations for hostages but don’t acknowledge the fact that President Trump got the job done. Like he told the American people he would... It's sad to see. In part, that’s why the government is shut down. It’s not because of any major policy fight, Stu. It’s about Trump derangement syndrome. They’re trying to prove to their base that they can stand up to Trump. So because of that, now federal workers are furloughed, some are going to get fired, and there’s going to be over things that are going to happen. You have troops and TSA agents, etc, who are not getting paid. All because Chuck Schumer, Senate Democrats, and House Democrats, mind you, want to prove that they’re tough to stand up to Donald Trump. Go ask Hamas how that worked."
