ICYMI: Donalds Joins The Rob Carson Show

WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined The Rob Carson Show on Newsmax Radio to discuss Chuck Schumer's government shutdown, President Trump's historic peace deal in the Middle East, and the drop in crime in our nation's capital.

Watch the full interview here.

"They are [Democrats] trying to hold the government hostage and hold the American people hostage, but we're not going to budge and we're not going to yield":

"I think this will probably end sometime over the next two weeks. Major issues coming up which is payment for our service members, military pay is going to come up soon. And I think you are going to see a couple Senate Democrats begin to fold and that's just the way this thing is going to end. It's all been about Chuck Schumer trying to save his leadership from the radical left in his party. It's about the radical left wanting to spend now upwards of 1.8 trillion dollars more on reckless things that the American people have long since rejected. The largest of which is healthcare for illegal aliens. The American people have rejected it, that's what Democrats want. And so they're trying to hold the government hostage and hold the American people hostage, but we're not going to budge and we're not going to yield."

"There was about a two week period where there was not a murder in Washington, D.C. That hadn't happened in D.C. in 40 plus years":

"Like night and day. Seriously like night and day. There was about a two week period where there was not a murder in Washington, D.C. That hadn't happened in D.C. in 40 plus years. It's literally night and day. And actually what you're seeing is the Metro Police Department no they have the resources to focus on the more crime ridden areas. Mayor Bowser, the D.C. mayor, she was in Oversight Committee about two weeks ago. She testified under last that crime in D.C. was down 40 percent, 40."
