WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform for a committee hearing entitled the “Oversight of the District of Columbia”.
During the hearing, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) pushed dangerous and harmful rhetoric against Republicans, declaring "I think it's really important, we need stand up against this fascist takeover. That's not a bad word, it's a fact."
Congressman Donalds took exception to the Congresswoman's remarks, subsequently asked the gentlelady to yield to a question, and called her out for her unhinged, dangerous, and misleading rhetoric in the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Congressman Byron Donalds released the following statement:
"It's been eight days since a leftist assassin shot my friend Charlie Kirk. Just now, Rashida Tlaib called us 'fascist' again. This rhetoric is wrong. This rhetoric is unhinged. This rhetoric is out-of-line. This was the exact same irresponsible rhetoric that inspired Tyler Robinson. Enough is enough. We will not stand to be defamed. We must set the record straight. We must call them out every single time."
