WASHINGTON – This morning, Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined Daybreak on 92.5 FM WFSX Fox News Radio–Estero to discuss yesterday's tragic shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic school, the mental health crisis plaguing our nation, and news of the day.

"People need to get the help that they need. We can’t throw that under the rug":

"What we need to do is, we need to really find ways to examine mental health issues that are existing in the United States and finding real remedies, and one of the biggest remedy is to stop this nonsense of gender affirming care, which is what the left calls it. That's the most diabolical phrase I've ever heard in my life. You have to let kids be kids, you have to let them go through puberty, allow their human body to actually go through the cycles of hormone shifting as they become adults. That’s what needs to happen. You can’t short circuit that with, with pharmacology, it does not work... What's clear about this shooting is you have a combination of a real internal mental health issues combined with the left-wing disgusting propaganda of the radical left... This is, this is something that’s becoming more and more of an issue, so I would say the number one way we deal with this is: we have to be open and honest about it and transparent about it. The manifesto needs to be publicly known, what was going on in the, in the killers psychology needs to be publicly known so the public understands what the true risks are. And it’ll probably also help other families that are out there, who might have a loved one who is going through something like this, and it helps to give them the courage to report it to you know local health agencies, so at least that person can get help mentally before they just take lives into their own hands or kill themselves. Either way, it’s a tragedy. People need to get the help that they need. We can’t throw that under the rug."
