WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) has released the following information announcing the 2025 Congressional App Challenge (CAC) submission window for constituents of Florida's 19th Congressional District.
BACKGROUND: The CAC was established in 2013 as a bipartisan effort to engage students from across the country in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) academic competition. Students showcase their skills through their efforts of creating and exhibiting their software application, or "app," for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice. The CAC encourages students of all skill levels to participate and provides multiple resources for students to get involved.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Apr. 1, 2025 — Student pre-registration opens.
Oct. 30, 2025 —Deadline for students to register and submit their app online.
Nov. 2025 — Judging period.
Dec. 2025 — Winners announced!
ELIGIBILITY:
To be eligible to participate in the CAC, you must be a middle or high school student at the time of app submission.
Students may register as individuals or as teams of up to four. No more than four students are allowed to form a team.
Students may compete in the congressional district where they reside or the congressional district where they attend school.
If competing as a team, at least half of the teammates must be eligible to compete in the district in which they are participating in.
All competing students must be U.S. residents at the time of submission. There is no citizen requirement for students.
