Donalds Announces 2025 Congressional App Challenge Submissions Due October 30th

WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) has released the following information announcing the 2025 Congressional App Challenge (CAC) submission window for constituents of Florida's 19th Congressional District.

BACKGROUND:
The CAC was established in 2013 as a bipartisan effort to engage students from across the country in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) academic competition. Students showcase their skills through their efforts of creating and exhibiting their software application, or "app," for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice. The CAC encourages students of all skill levels to participate and provides multiple resources for students to get involved. 

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Apr. 1, 2025 — Student pre-registration opens. 
  • Oct. 30, 2025 —Deadline for students to register and submit their app online. 
  • Nov. 2025 — Judging period. 
  • Dec. 2025 — Winners announced!

ELIGIBILITY:

  • To be eligible to participate in the CAC, you must be a middle or high school student at the time of app submission.
  • Students may register as individuals or as teams of up to four. No more than four students are allowed to form a team.
  • Students may compete in the congressional district where they reside or the congressional district where they attend school.
  • If competing as a team, at least half of the teammates must be eligible to compete in the district in which they are participating in.
  • All competing students must be U.S. residents at the time of submission. There is no citizen requirement for students.
