"When you are subpoenaed...you have a responsibility to show up":

"You have a responsibility to comply with subpoenas of the House of Representatives. If you fail to do so, then I have no problem with a criminal referral to the Department of Justice...When you are subpoenaed to testify before the House of Representatives in a committee, you have a responsibility to show up."

"The American people want even-handed justice under the law":

"For far too long ion the country, we've seen political actors basically be covered up and put into the shadows when we know that there has been wrongdoing. And I truly believe the Epstein matter is a piece of the overall issue. It could be Epstein, it could be Russiagate, or anything in-between, the autopen, Operation Choke Point 1.0, Operation Choke Point 2.0. What the American people are tired of are our elected officials hiding behind their positions and not being held accountable the way any other American would be held accountable. Furthermore, what they don't want to see anymore, is the weaponization of the justice system against political rivals. That was done to President Trump, that was done to Peter Navarro, that was done to so many others - the American people are sick of it, they want even-handed justice under the law."
