ICYMI: Donalds Joins Varney & Co.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) joined Varney & Co. on Fox Business Network to discuss his leadership of H.R. 4494 – "The Flood Insurance Relief Act", the benefits of the One Big Beautiful Bill, and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee's investigation into former President Biden's cognitive decline and his administration's autopen usage.

"We want to be able to provide some relief to homeowners":

"Flood insurance in the country continues to rise. These are mostly federal insurance plans from NFIP, and so what we are trying to do is help homeowners get some relief - especially considering the fact that prices have risen over the last four years under the Biden Administration...We want to be able to provide some relief to homeowners out there who are trying to make ends meet while flood insurance premiums continue to rise... It is a major expense on a lot of people. So what myself, Senator Scott, Senator Moody, what we're trying to do is to provide relief. Obviously, to of course Floridians but people all across the country."

"[We] provided major tax relief and stability to the American people":

"What we did in this bill [The Big Beautiful Bill Act] provided major tax relief and stability to the American people. When it comes to Medicaid and Snap, we did simple things like work requirements and checking eligibility. Those are simple things, things that Bill Clinton agreed with when he was President. Things that Democrats, commonsense Democrats, used to go along with."

"They're hiding behind the Fifth Amendment so they don't incriminate themselves":

"What we've already from a couple of people in that [Biden] White House is that they don't want to talk. They're hiding behind the Fifth Amendment so they don't incriminate themselves and so the only people, in my opinion, who would have real answers would be Jill Biden, would be Kamala Harris, and would be Mr. Zients - who was the chief of staff in the White House towards the end of the Biden Administration. Add him to the last as well."
