WASHINGTON – This afternoon, at approximately 3:15 PM, two airboats collided in Ochopee, Collier County, south of U.S. 41 East, between mile markers 74 and 75.
A total of thirty-three passengers were on-board the two boats. At this time, emergency officials are on-scene and at least sixteen people have been hospitalized. Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) released the following statement:
"This afternoon, in the Collier County Everglades, two airboats collided with a total of thirty-three passengers on-board," said Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL). "At this time, emergency officials are on-scene and at least sixteen passengers have been transported to local hospitals for treatment. My office is actively tracking this rapidly-developing situation. Erika and I pray for the health and safety of all involved."
