Rep. Donalds Votes To Require Federal Government To Return To In-Person Work

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) issued the following statement after voting for legislation to require federal employees to return to in-person work with pre-pandemic telework policies.

“With the pandemic officially over, it only makes sense that the federal government’s telework policies revert to pre-pandemic operations. It’s not often that DC Mayor Bowser and House Republicans agree on policy, but this bipartisan agreement strongly illustrates the great need to get federal employees back to work, in person, as soon as possible.

“Right now, it takes up to four months to be assigned an agent for an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) case, it takes 30 days for United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to respond to a Congressional inquiry and there are 197,000 Veterans Affairs (VA) backlogs, some as long as two years. Most of the American people have gone back to work. Let’s go back to pre-Pandemic protocols. I am proud to support this commonsense legislation.”
