Washington,

WASHINGTON - Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) announces the introduction of H.R. 3901, the Agency Subpoena Compliance Act. The bill requires the Executive Branch to compile and submit a report to Congress regarding each subpoena sent to or received by a federal agency in the past fiscal year. The legislation also includes a provision related to failure to produce the report, resulting in a 2% reduction of funding for the Executive Office of the President, for each week of delay. Lastly, the Agency Subpoena Compliance Act requires the House Oversight and Accountability Committee and the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs to hold respective hearings on the Executive Branch report and determine whether agencies complied with lawfully issued subpoenas. For each lawfully issued subpoena that was not complied with, Congress is then authorized to reduce agency funding by ½%. |
