Last week, the President of the United States delivered what I'd characterize as the most divisive, destructive, and disgraceful speech by a president in modern history. Flanked by the United States military personnel and in front of red lights that gave off a menacing appearance, Biden looked the American people in the eyes and labeled half of the nation as a "threat to democracy." From the official White House lectern on the sacred grounds of Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Joe Biden engaged in something shocking and beneath the dignity of the man who ran as the "Great Unifier." For anyone willing to give him the benefit of the doubt when he officially took office, it didn't take long for the American people to realize his talk to unite the country was cheap and that he intended to tear the nation apart.
Living up to my preconceived notions, Joe Biden has presided over one of the most polarizing, politically charged, and perverse administrations, and we are all suffering as a result. From killing energy jobs by canceling the Keystone XL pipeline, firing countless Americans for their vaccination status, targeting parents protesting woke ideology in schools, and the recent raid on his political opponent. None of this is normal conduct, let alone constitutional. On top of this division, the Biden-Harris agenda packs a one-two punch. In 20 months, we've faced: A recession, unprecedented inflation, an illegal immigrant and fentanyl crisis, out-of-control crime on our streets, woke indoctrination in our schools, reckless spending, and the politicization of our federal and intelligence agencies.
Biden's speech failed to mention "inflation, crime, fentanyl, the border, or China," but he did say, "January 6th, Donald Trump, MAGA, and Republicans" ad nauseam. His hate-filled speech clearly shows that the platform for the Democratic Party is to pit Republicans versus Democrats, label your opponents as "semi-fascists," neglect responsibility, and pay off voters with unconstitutional schemes like student debt forgiveness. Compare that plan juxtaposed with the Republican's "Commitment to America," and the path forward couldn't be clearer. My GOP colleagues and I stand for a limited federal government, lower taxes, fewer burdensome regulations (especially on our energy industry), allowing parents choices and power in education, securing the border, defending your constitutional rights, reining in spending, and allowing freedom to flourish.
Florida's 19th Congressional District resoundingly voted for Donald Trump—and by that logic—Joe Biden thinks most of you are a threat to America. As your Congressman, I will not stand by and watch this president demean and denigrate my district's hardworking, freedom-loving, and patriotic residents, and I will always fight for YOU.
Lastly, Happy Labor Day!
