Last week, both House and Senate Democrats voted to pass the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill, "The American Rescue Plan." You and your family deserve to know that less than 10% of this Democrat wishlist goes towards real relief for the American people. The other 90% of this bill is pork going back to Nancy Pelosi's cronies’ pockets. Since taking office, I have witnessed first-hand how out of touch Washington is with the American people and how reckless politicians operate in our nation's capital. As a member of the House Committees on Government Oversight, Budget, and Small Business, I have stood with my Republican colleagues in numerous amendments to prevent this monstrosity of a bill from being passed. Some of the amendments I introduced would prevent illegal immigrants from receiving stimulus money, forbidding institutions like Planned Parenthood from receiving PPP loans, and calling on states to open before receiving additional bailout money.

Secondly, this month we celebrate Women's History Month, and today, on International Women's Day, we celebrate the achievements of countless women, both past and present. As the proud son of a single mother, I have tremendous respect and admiration for women's contributions throughout our nation and the world—I want to thank all of the trailblazers who broke barriers and paved the way for the future generation of women.

This week I head back to Washington, D.C., to fight for conservative values and common-sense policies. Washington bureaucrats follow political science, not the actual science, and I will continue to speak truth to power to ensure your government is working for you. The restoration of Florida’s Everglades has successfully seen bipartisan support for years in order to preserve & protect this irreplaceable ecosystem. I am proud to be joining my fellow Florida colleagues urging President Biden to continue federal funds for vital Everglades restoration. Florida students have been back in the classroom learning since last fall, giving them a strong advantage over their peers around the country in lockdown states. We cannot continue to play politics & sacrifice the education of our students by keeping schools closed.

H.R. 1 will eviscerate state election laws around the country, including in my state of Florida. The Democrats are all about imposing the federal government's hand in everyone's life, which needs to end, especially in our election system.

It’s time we speak truth in the nation’s Capitol:

The American Rescue Plan is being sold to the public as COVID-19 aid, yet only 9% of the funds are directed towards providing stimulus relief. The American taxpayers deserve better than radical and fake relief bills.
