This past week, the House of Representatives was in recess, affording me ample time to be in Southwest Florida with the great people of Florida's 19th Congressional District.
In Washington, D.C., many of the barriers surrounding the United States Capitol remain standing, and hundreds of National Guard troops continue to line the streets, but this is not the same story on our Southern Border. The crisis on the border is only getting worse. Yet, the President of the United States nor the Vice President have traveled to the border to assess the humanitarian crisis unfolding because of their feckless stance on illegal immigration. My Democratic colleagues seem to like walls and barriers around their workplace but not the communities they were elected to serve.
Back home, I have enjoyed meeting with local leaders and everyday Americans who aren't looking for more government but simply the opportunity to live in harmony and have access to the American Dream. As your Congressman, I will continue to ensure your government prioritizes the people and not politics and that Southwest Floridians have a voice on Capitol Hill.
Florida continues to be a model of success during the ongoing challenges brought on by the pandemic. We continue to mourn every loss of life, and through continued coordination with the Administration, Florida is outpacing many states in the vaccine distribution, getting one step closer to an end to this horrible pandemic. We are fortunate to live in the Sunshine State, where we prioritize your freedoms, your child's education follows the science, not political science, and you, the hardworking American taxpayer, can continue to live, work, and prosper.

Time after time, Democrats resort to the race card to shield them from having to answer for their hypocrisy and radical policies.
Below is my statement condemning President Biden’s invocation of Jim Crow Laws when defending the Democrat’s un-constitutional H.R 1 political control bill and their efforts to abolish the filibuster.
Collier County Mosquito Control Tour
Last week, I toured the Collier County Mosquito Control facilities to learn more about their operations in studying, monitoring and limiting the mosquito population in Southwest Florida. I was happy to join the Director on a private helicopter tour of beautiful Collier County to learn about what they do in the air firsthand.
Lee County Black History Museum
My staff and I toured the Lee County Black History Museum last week. Learning the entire history of Southwest Florida is essential for me to represent the people of Florida's 19th Congressional District. To move forward and legislate appropriately, I was eager to learn more about the vibrant and impactful history of African-American culture here in Southwest Florida. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to participate in this great event.
Everglades National Park Tour
Last week, my district team and I surveyed the Florida Everglades and the dedicated efforts to restore this vital ecosystem. Southwest Florida is home to these beautiful and vast landscapes, and we must do everything to protect their future.
In the Media
President Biden's latest accusations suggesting the debate surrounding filibuster reform are invoking Jim Crow laws is disturbing and incredibly inaccurate. The dark stain that Jim Crow laws left on our Republic is personal to me and many Black Americans like me. Click below for more on my reaction to President Biden's destructive comments on race.
Last Friday, I joined the "John Bachman Now" on Newsmax to discuss the hypocrisy surrounding the Democrats' support of filibuster in the Senate, Nancy Pelosi trying to unseat a certified Member of Congress, and more.

Last week, I joined The National Desk to discuss Joe Biden's abysmal handling of the Southern Border crisis. We need leadership, and we need the policies of the Trump administration reimplemented immediately. The #BidenBorderCrisis is a threat to our national security. Last week, Governor DeSantis announced that starting March 29th, all Floridians 40 years of age and older will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Beginning on April 5th, Floridians 18 years of age and older will also be eligible for vaccination. This is a tremendous step forward in combatting this virus. I am incredibly thankful for Governor DeSantis's leadership during this pandemic. For more information on these COVID-19 updates, please click below:
Serving the hardworking men and women of Florida's 19th Congressional District is my distinct honor and privilege. It's time Washington works for our community's values, and every day I will always strive to ensure your government is working for you.
