Last week, while the House of Representatives stood in recess, I joined a handful of my Republican colleagues on a trip to the southern border.

While President Biden has yet to visit the border since taking office, this trip marks my third time to the border while serving the great people of Southwest Florida. My colleagues and I had the opportunity to see firsthand the magnitude of this crisis and the consequences of this administration's open-border policies. By refusing to enforce the Trump administration's common sense immigration and border policies, our nation is more vulnerable and in peril than ever. Biden and Harris' open border policies are emboldening smugglers, cartels, and criminals while simultaneously endangering the American people's lives. The reckless policies supported by this administration & top Democrats prove they have little to no regard for the border patrol agents risking their lives to protect our republic. This administration's continued denial regarding the magnitude of this crisis directly jeopardizes our national security and further overwhelms our immigration system. This refusal to take action can no longer stand. I am calling upon President Biden to work with Congress to enact immigration policies that will protect the sovereignity and security of our republic and the American people.

Also, as nearly everyone knows, inflation is skyrocketing, and the latest Consumer Price Index numbers confirm the pain every American is feeling in their finances. When President Trump left office, inflation was 1.6%; just fourteen months later, inflation reached 8.5%, thanks to failed economic policies of Joe Biden. Under complete Democrat control in Washington, the only answer from those in charge is to spend more of your hard-earned money and completely ignore the obvious economic issues they created. We need less spending, not more. We need fewer taxes and regulations, not more. And we need to allow our businesses and energy sector to operate to their fullest potential to reignite American exceptionalism.

Visit to the Southern Border

Alongside several of my Republican colleagues on the House Oversight and Reform Committee, I visited our southern border last week for the third time.

This trip was extremely eye-opening as we met with border officials, saw the vulnerability of our border, and saw migrants illegally cross into the United States first-hand.

These migrants are breaking our laws without remorse, consequence, or fear. This administration's lack of swift action in regard to the ongoing humanitarian crisis at our southern border makes one thing very clear:

The open border policies embraced by this administration are proving to be detrimental to our national security and America's sovereignty.
