Last week, as the House of Representatives stood in session, Nancy Pelosi and progressive Democrats continued to dismiss the severity of the grueling gas and fuel crisis our nation is experiencing. Last week, the average price of diesel in Florida reached $5.639—surpassing the national average of $5.540. As our national economy already suffers from record prices across the board coupled with runaway inflation, soaring gas and diesel prices will only spiral our economy downwards. As President Biden and the White House play the inflation blame game, the American people know the truth: most Americans place the responsibility for record-high gas prices on President Biden's anti-American energy agenda. Bidenomics and this administration's refusal to address rising inflation and the energy crisis are directly responsible for the record prices impacting fixed-income seniors and working-class Americans. Rather than reverse course and uplift American energy production, this administration remains committed to reducing U.S. production capacity, increasing our reliance on oil from foreign adversaries, and limiting domestic oil and gas leases. Gas prices have increased over 50% since Joe Biden took office, and his lack of action proves he has no concern for the financial impact of his policies. I remain committed to fighting these radical policies that burden Americans and negatively impact our economy.
