Last week marked one year since Biden's botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, leading to the Middle East's complete destabilization, hundreds of deaths, and a massive stain on our history. Many leaders in America agreed it was time to bring our boys and girls home, but no one wanted to see the chaos and carnage that ensued because of Biden's lack of leadership and plan. Since the horrific attacks on 9/11/01, our nation has planted its feet in the hot sands of the Middle East. This presence in the region began as a noble exercise to punish those responsible for the killings of thousands of innocent Americans, but after several years the mission got lost. People on both sides of the aisle and nearly every corner of the nation agreed it was time to come home, and it was President Biden's task to do this. On the heels of a deal brokered by the Trump administration, the U.S. was in an ideal position to begin its departure. Unfortunately, Biden, Harris, and the so-called experts fumbled the bag, and this planned departure crumbled in the hands of inept career diplomats.
The haphazard exit from Afghanistan will go down in U.S. history as one of the most damaging and amateurish military and foreign policy endeavors in our treasured history. This stain was not at the hands of the brave foot soldiers but the bureaucratic-military brass in Washington, but more importantly, President Joseph R. Biden. Despite several warnings by military experts that advised the president to take a different path, Biden ignored all advice and went rogue. This brash and irresponsible behavior is unbecoming of a Commender-in-Chief and exposed the reckless nature of this incompetent president.
This week, on August 26th, our nation will mourn the first anniversary of the heartwrenching passing of the 13 heroes that died due to Biden's botched withdrawal. Following the deaths of these selfless and courageous servicemembers, I immediately called on Biden to resign in disgrace. To make matters worse, when receiving the bodies of these fallen warriors, Biden dared to check his watch as if he had better places to be. Like many of you, I will never forget this sickening act of disrespect.
Under the Biden-Harris administration, our nation and the world are less safe than the Trump-Pence administration—this is an undeniable truth. President Donald J. Trump ushered in peace in the Middle East, canceled the disastrous Iran Nuclear Deal, moved the embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, quelled tensions in North Korea, and possessed strength against China, Russia, and the rest of our adversaries.
In closing, may we all say a prayer and keep close to our hearts the families of those who perished in Afghanistan one year ago this week:

In order to promote America’s nuclear leadership role & to further our country’s goal of becoming energy independent, the federal govt must immediately step in to support the nuclear industry & provide the resources to establish the domestic capability of producing HALEU.
I’m thankful to work bipartisanly with Rep. Luria to introduce the Fueling Our Nuclear Future Act.

Reps. Donalds and Luria Introduce the Bipartisan Fueling Our Nuclear Future Act to Boost Domestic Energy Production and Grow U.S. Advanced Nuclear Technology WASHINGTON, D.C. - This week, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) announced the introduction of the bipartisan Fueling Our Nuclear Future Act today to accelerate the availability of commercially produced high-assay, low enriched uranium (HALEU) fuel and boost domestic energy production in the United States.
Co-led by Rep. Elaine Luria (D-VA), the legislation directs the Secretary of Energy to prioritize and establish a program that ensures a domestic supply of HALEU for advanced nuclear reactors. The U.S. currently lacks a domestic enrichment capability to produce HALEU, which the advanced nuclear reactors being developed will require.
“As the next generation of advanced nuclear reactors begin to be licensed for widespread commercial deployment, securing a domestic supply of high-assay, low-enriched uranium (HALEU) is of particular importance,” said Rep. Donalds. “In order to promote America’s nuclear leadership role and to further our country’s ultimate intention of becoming energy independent, the federal government must step in to provide the necessary support and resources to establish the capability of producing HALEU in America—instead of solely relying on Russia for our domestic HALEU supply. I’m thankful to work across the aisle on a bipartisan basis to introduce the Fueling Our Nuclear Future Act which provides vital federal support to combat the ongoing HALEU dilemma.
The Fueling Our Nuclear Future Act also directs the Secretary of Energy to provide for an array of HALEU enrichment levels, output levels to meet demand, and fuel forms suitable for multiple advanced reactors. The Secretary is further directed to consider options to establish a HALEU Bank to replenish Department of Energy stockpiles of uranium made available as part of this program.
“As an engineer who operated nuclear reactors in the Navy, I saw firsthand that nuclear power is safe and can play a key role in securing our energy independence and clean energy future,” Rep. Luria said. “I am proud to introduce the Fueling Our Nuclear Future Act. My legislation will boost America’s domestic energy production and ensure that the United States a global leader in nuclear energy technology.”

ICYMI Forbes: A New Atomic Age? Bipartisan Interest In Nuclear Energy Growing Amid Rising Energy Demand
Donalds is optimistic about the future of domestic nuclear energy, however, and he thinks “there’s more openness on a bipartisan basis.” He added that “nuclear is the best way, the most consistent way, and it actually might be the cheapest way to accomplish the environmental goals of some of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle, while also making sure that the country has a stable and strong energy basis.”
