WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) issued the following statement condemning the political charade against former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.
"Efforts by Democrats and some disgruntled 'Republicans' to blacklist political adversaries with feckless charges of contempt is a dangerous precedent for our Constitutional Republic," said Rep. Donalds. "Everyone supporting the political witch-hunt, known as the United States House Select Committee on January 6, amplifies a charade intended to subject Trump-supporting Americans to a kangaroo court of injustice and political theater. Unfortunately, Mark Meadows is another American on the Democrats' hit list. Holding the former White House Chief of Staff in contempt is a disgrace to the rule of law and Congressional oversight credibility."
