The second session of the 117th Congress is officially underway! In our first week back in the Capitol, my office & I hit the ground running on behalf of Florida's 19th Congressional District: This past week––I introduced legislation to abolish the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which aims to reduce bureaucracy in Washington, spoke on the House Floor opposing the Democrat's radical plan to federalize our elections, and continued messaging the Conservative agenda on local and national media. Last week, the Supreme Court ruled on the side of individual liberty––blocking the Biden administration's unconstitutional vaccine mandate. The federal government should never have the authority to demand private companies enforce a medical procedure on their employees. The Supreme Court's ruling is a win for Americans and the sanctity of our Constitution. While this ruling is a significant milestone in protecting our right to medical freedom––there is still work to do. Despite serving on the frontlines of this pandemic, emergency response personnel and healthcare workers are still subjected to authoritarian rule and ordered to be vaccinated. I will continue to fight this gross overreach conducted by the Biden administration and stand up for freedom and liberty. In another liberal attempt to seize absolute power, Speaker Pelosi and Congressional Democrats sneakily added their federal election takeover bill in legislation initially intended to deal with NASA. This legislation isn't about expanding voting rights; it's a complete federal takeover of our electoral process: This bill does the following: - Allows taxpayer dollars to fund campaigns through a 6:1 match
- Overrides state election law
- Abolishes voter ID laws
- Extends Election Day by seven days to count late ballots
- Enacts preclears laws that require federal approval of state election laws
- Violates the United States Constitution
This legislation is detrimental to our Constitutional Republic, and if this legislation passes the Senate––Democrats will illegally maintain power for the foreseeable future. If you oppose this legislation, as I do, I encourage you to hold your Senators accountable and ensure that the filibuster remains and that this bill fails.
Just days ago, the Southwest Florida community faced the devastating impact of Mother Nature as several tornadoes impacted Florida's 19th Congressional District. Erika & I are praying for those affected by the storm and their loved ones. My office and I are in contact with local and state officials to bring aid, resources, and relief to the victims of these tornadoes. Yesterday, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we didn't only celebrate the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we honor his life of sacrifice and dedication that led to America becoming a more perfect union.
We are the nation we are today because of men like MLK, and we must keep his dream alive.

Following the tornadoes that impacted Fort Myers, I ask that you keep the Southwest Florida community in your prayers.
The Lee County Emergency Operations Center is working alongside the American Red Cross to bring aid and relief to our community. Wa-Ke Hatchee Park & Recreation Center is now open & serving as an official shelter location for those who were impacted by the storm.
My office & I are working with state & local leaders to ensure all those impacted have the resources & information needed at this difficult time.

I was honored to take part in the Dreams and Inspirations event celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. MLK, Jr., in Fort Myers this past weekend.
Dr. King is an American hero, and my American Dream wouldn’t have been possible without his leadership and sacrifices.

Today, I joined Senator Ted Cruz's (R-TX) efforts in the Senate as the House lead on a bill to abolish the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. (CFPB)
The CFPB hinders economic prosperity by imposing burdensome and unnecessary regulations on American consumers.
I'm thankful to my Co-Sponsors of this bill & for their support:
Rep. Jodie Arrington (R-TX) Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) Rep. Alex Mooney (R-WV)

Democrats are using this bill to enact their radical plans to abolish voter identification laws, force taxpayer funding of elections, expand preclearance laws across the nation, and allow ballots to be counted seven days after Election Day.

The U.S. Constitution makes it clear: State Legislatures have jurisdiction over enacting election laws, not bureaucrats in Washington.
This isn’t about 'expanding' voting rights, it’s another attempt by swamp Democrats to take complete control over our elections.

Members of Congress and our staffs are not above the American people, and I will be donating these tests to a local healthcare facility in Florida's 19th Congressional District.

Last week, I joined the 'Evening Edit' hosted by Elisabeth MacDonald on Fox Business to discuss political bias on the Supreme Court, President Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandate, and more.
Watch my full interview below:

On 'America Reports' last week, I joined host John Roberts to discuss a truth Democrats & the mainstream media love to ignore: It’s harder to vote in Biden’s home state of Delaware than it is in Georgia.
If Joe Biden really cared about voting rights, he should talk to members of the Delaware Assembly—not harass the good people of Georgia.
|
ICYMI: I joined 'Varney & Co.' on Fox Business last week to discuss Biden's sham of a voting bill.
Ladies & gentlemen, voting rights are NOT under assault in America. This effort is a sad attempt by the Democrats to shift the people's attention away from Biden's sinking approval & their quest for more power.
|
On 'Fox News Primetime' last week, I discussed Biden and Harris' terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week.
Watch below!

Yesterday, I joined 'Fox & Friends' to give an update on the tornadoes that impacted Southwest Florida, react to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) outrageous comments that Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema don't care about Black people, and my appreciation for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
|
Last night, I joined 'Hannity' on Fox News, alongside former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, to discuss the rise in violent crime across the nation.
