WASHINGTON —Today, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) issued the following statement slamming Congressional Democrat's efforts to ram through their Bernie-inspired $3.5 trillion budget resolution.
"Speaker Pelosi and Congressional Democrats are stealing from the American taxpayer, both current and future. Speaker Pelosi is operating like a dictator, not as a member of Congress, and Democrats are following their leader irrespective of House procedure or what is best for their constituents. The outrageous spending Democrats are proposing with this Budget Resolution will open the flood gates for continued reckless spending, heightened inflation, increased taxes, and amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants," said Rep. Donalds.
"This week, I introduced two amendments to this bloated and Bernie Sanders proposed budget. Unfortunately, House Democrats refused to consider any minority input for their massive liberal wish list of a bill. My amendments would prevent the process of reconciliation from being used to ram through this radical bill and stop the proposed tax increases on Americans and small businesses—Democrats blocked this effort. While I am outraged by the Democrat's bait and switch tactics to push through their socialist agenda, I am more outraged that future generations like my three childrens' will be the generation tasked with the impossible responsibility of paying down the enormous national deficit. Biden's America is Bernie's utopia come true."
