WASHINGTON — Today, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) sent a letter to Secretary Xavier Becerra of the Department of Health and Human Services requesting records of all taxpayer funds spent on the crisis on our Southern Border.
"Having traveled to our Southern Border twice since joining Congress, I have heard directly from leaders on the ground who have testified to the exorbitant costs associated with the self-inflicted crisis on the border. U.S. Customs and Border Protection and HHS officials act like triage units as officers, government employees, contractors, and volunteers process, house, care for, and transport illegal migrants. Many migrants are accessing charter busses, commercial airlines, commercial lodging facilities, and much more at the American taxpayer's expense, and it's time the government provides transparency as to where their hard-earned dollars are going."
Co-Signers of the Letter include:
Biggs (AZ-05), Cawthorn (NC-11), Cloud (TX-27), Franklin (FL-15), Grothman (WI-06), Harshbarger (TN-01), Herrell (NM-02), Norman (SC-05), Sessions (TX-17)
The letter can be found in its entirety here.
