Last week, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives continued to jam through partisan legislation aimed at curbing your constitutional rights and increasing the power of the federal government. Since entering Congress, my Democrat colleagues have passed a $1.9 trillion blue-state bailout, anti-law enforcement measures, unconstitutional election 'reform,' and now, infringing Second Amendment bills like H.R. 8 and H.R. 1446.

You elected me to Congress to defend your Constitutional Rights, promote conservative principles, and support common-sense policies that empower prosperity and protect your freedoms. H.R. 8 and H.R. 1446 unilaterally infringe upon your Constitutional right to keep and bear arms by enacting additional overbearing restrictions and bureaucratic oversight on law-abiding gun owners like yourself.

The House of Representatives also re-voted on the massive $1.9 trillion stimulus package disguised by Democrats as coronavirus relief. This bloated bill only allocates 9% of funds towards COVID-19 relief. As we continue to battle this pandemic, Congress must support targeted stimulus relief and promote state and local governments' reopening. In Florida, we follow science and economics by allowing Floridians to go about their lives safely responsibly, Washington. D.C. should be following our lead, not the other way around.

As your representative, I am committed to standing for the Constitution, individual liberty, bringing sound and sensible policies to Congress, and protecting the American taxpayers' hard-earned dollars.

Speech on the House Floor - Opposing H.R. 8

H.R. 8 and H.R 1446 put more burden on law-abiding Americans and whittles away American’s constitutional right to keep and bear arms. Gun violence in America is more about mental health issues than it is about acquiring firearms.

The United States Congress should not make it significantly more challenging for law-abiding citizens to purchase a gun, their Constitutional God-given right.

Legislative Updates

The Biden Administration and Democrats refuse to call the massive influx of illegal migrants at our Southern Border a crisis, but we all know it is. That is why I joined Rep. James Comer, Ranking Member of the Committee on Government Oversight & Reform, in a letter calling on the Administration to address the crisis on our border.

The lack of overall transparency by this Administration should concern all Americans, especially relating to the self-inflicted border crisis this Administration is refusing to acknowledge. The American people deserve answers immediately, and I'm happy to ask the questions. Read the letter in its entirety below:

Oversight & Reform Committee Republicans Pen Letter to Biden

Today it is universal background checks, & tomorrow it is the complete banning of firearms across the board. Gun laws like H.R. 8 only unreasonably impact everyday Americans who responsibly own & use firearms, not criminals who by definition do not follow the rules.

H.R. 1446 is a heavy-handed and radical bureaucratic bill intended to create arbitrary rules and infringements upon the rights of millions of law-abiding gun owners in America. This measure is nothing more than a blatant infringement of our 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.

COVID-19 Updates

Last week, while hosting a press conference in Lee County, Florida, Governor DeSantis announced an increase in Floridians' vaccination sites. Partnering with CVS pharmacies, there are now 97 vaccination sites spanning 19 counties throughout the state. For appointments, please visit CVS.com.

On March 15th, in Florida, the eligibility to receive a vaccine has been lowered to 60 years and older. Through the Governor's #SeniorsFirst strategy, over 2.7 million seniors in Florida have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
