WASHINGTON —Today, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) sent a letter to Secretary Xavier Becerra of the Department of Health and Human Services requesting Title 42 remain firmly in place as the border remains under siege.
“Ending Title 42 would be an absolute catastrophe given the current abysmal status of our southern border. The already inundated facilities will see an explosion that will have irreparable consequences for our great nation. The egregious leadership and ineffective immigration policy of President Biden and Vice President Harris have driven us directly into this crisis. Our national security is at risk with the Biden Administration’s dangerous discussions about ending Title 42,” said Rep. Byron Donalds.
“Failing to uphold this crucial policy established under President Trump would prove detrimental to our nation for generations to come. With the rising threat of human kidnappings and trafficking, drug smuggling, home invasions, and much more – every state in our nation has become a border state.”
