I spent last week in Southwest Florida as the U.S. House of Representatives entered a committee work week. I had the opportunity to attend hearings, meet with several local stakeholders all while continuing to fight for conservative values in #FL19!
Last week we saw the start of massive uprisings in Cuba. I stand in solidarity with the people of Cuba as they protest for freedom from a tyrannical communist regime. While radicals in the United States burn, tarnish, and disgrace our American flag, countries suffering under the realities of communism proudly wave it as a symbol of freedom, liberty, and justice. As our great nation faces the rising threat of communism, we must unite and embrace American patriotism and support pro-democracy movements across the globe. America must always serve as a fierce beacon of hope for all those in the pursuit of liberation from unjust and authoritarian government rule.
Members of the Texas House Democratic Caucus fled their state last week to withhold a quorum from a special session aimed at passing an election integrity bill. While the Texas Democrats touted their trip to D.C. as heroic stating they "made big sacrifices to be here today", the reality is they chartered a private plane where they traveled with beer and no masks. While American citizens are subject to harsh, unjust, and dictatorial mask mandates, the Texas Democrats have proven once again, the Democrats are the party of hypocrisy.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that the Senator Bernie Sanders led Budget Committee, reached an agreement on a jaw-dropping $3.5 trillion package to add to President Biden's infrastructure plan. The abysmal and careless package further pushes our country into debt and rising inflation. It does not aid American infrastructure as the Democrats have adopted a loose definition of the term "infrastructure". While the liberals applaud this dangerous spending, the American people, specifically our lower and middle-income families, feel the burden and cost of inflation. Gas prices, energy, food, and clothing are just a few examples of everyday necessities that are rising in price. Deficit spending by the Democrat party will prove detrimental to our nation for years to come. It is time to enact rational economic policy, rather than radical.
